01-17
Becky's feeling more comfortable now. She is sleeping alot better at night, and is less fussy during the day. Jennifer and I have actually had some decent nights lately. Well I don't have to feed her every three hours, so they've been better for me than for Jennifer. Elizabeth appears to be over the worst of it. She gets by with only one or two doses of medicine a day now, and doesn't wake-up in "coughing fits" like she did for a while. It is safe to say we are all on the mend here, but Francie and Chris now both have upper respiratory infections. They are being nice, and claiming it wasn't from us, but I believe otherwise. I hope they recover soon.
01-14
Becky's condition is improving slowly day-by-day. Recovery will be a long, gradual process it seems. Beth has had a rough last few nights, while sleeping, she coughs, it hurts, so she wakes-up crying. Jennifer is feeling better, and I hope to begin getting out of the house again, in a day or so. We are going to visit Beth's surgeon Monday morning, to discuss repairing her hernia.
01-11
We're all home and "home-bound." Thank goodness little Becky's illness had "peaked" when Jennifer took her into the pediatrician's, she only got better after we checked into the hospital. She is still very sick, but no longer in any immediate distress. The Dr. says she will most likely require two or three weeks to recover completely. Jennifer is seems to be recovering nicely, and I'm getting better too, but Elizabeth is congested and coughing with a fever of 101.5 deg. f.. She's going in to the Dr.'s office in the morning.

01-10
Becky and her Mom are doing O.K. at the Hospital. I will be staying with them tonight. The doctor stated we may be able to bring her home Thurday 01/10, but that Becky will take weeks to recover fully. Her mother was up all night with a very unpleasant stomach bug, so please don't call the room today so she can catch-up on her rest. Thank you all for your prayers and support.

01-09 (3 1/2 weeks)
Well she got worse, Jennifer took her in to the pediatrician today, and the Dr. now says she does have RSV. We will be checking her into Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth by noon today. Please remember her in your prayers.

12-29 (2 weeks)
We took Becky by the Pediatrician's office for a "weigh-in" to satisfy our own curiosity about how fast she was growing. She weighed 6 lbs 8 oz !!! Wow, Mom has obviously been doing a great job of feeding her, and she is "thriving!"

12-24 (1 week)
Becky is doing very well. Daddy's initial concern that she was so very small has proven to be unfounded.
The pediatricians have confirmed she is doing well, and except for a 24 hour Billirubin (sp?) treatment with special lights, she has not given us any cause for concern. Her Billirubin count is down now, and she has already regained her birth weight with a great little appetite.
She looks more like her sister every day, but the abundance of dark brown hair is decidedly different.
We will begin posting the photos on her site as soon as I get them converted to digital format.
Thanks you all for your prayers and support.
Chuck, Jennifer, Beth, and Becky.

Hello All,
Hope this note finds you happy
and healthy.
We are in Saunders “infirmary
mode” here, Jennifer caught an upper respiratory bug around X-mas time, now it
is making the rounds in the house.
Elizabeth has what appears to be
a “light case,” just a runny nose really.
Worst of all, little Becky has
begun to cough and sneeze in the last day or two. Considering the news that
little Brennan has contracted RSV, Jennifer just left to take her (Becky) in to
the pediatrician this morning. She’s
not in any distress, we just want to make sure she doesn’t get that way.
With my lousy old firefighter
lungs, I’ve had pneumonia for the last two January to February transitions,
and I'm fearful of a “three-peat.” So far, this bug has gone to
bronchitis in only three days and I’m going to search the internet today for
some way to stop it from becoming pneumonia this time.
As far as I know, at least half
of those attending the family Xmas have been bitten by one bug or another,
‘tis the season for sharing (more than just xmas cheer). J
A few more-positive notes,
Clinton is leaving office soon, It is a new year, a new century, and a new
millennium.
Happy New Years’ Wishes
from the Saunders (Jr.) Family.
Becky, Beth, Jennifer, and
Chuck.
Post hoc: the Dr. says Becky does not have RSV, but to run her back in if she gets worse.
